Bi-weekly Sessions

Six interactive sessions (2 to 3 hours each), led by the founder, Erika Whelan. Participants can engage in real-time Q&A, collaborative discussions, and connect with fellow cohort members. 

Guided Skill Integration

We go beyond theory with in-class exercises and take-home assignments that ensure practical application of the skills, fostering sustained growth for both leaders and their teams. 

Ongoing Support

Post-course, receive six monthly resource emails to reinforce learning and assist with skill implementation. Plus, optional coaching support for deeper insights. 

About

The Humanizing Leadership Lab is designed for leaders looking to cultivate the human side of leadership. Many leaders are promoted for their technical expertise, but leadership requires a unique skill set—one rooted in guiding others to success, fostering trust, and creating a positive team environment.

This six-session series bridges that gap, helping leaders develop the essential skills of self-awareness, self-management, and self-improvement. By building trustworthy, authentic relationships with their teams, leaders will inspire purpose-driven growth both in their own careers and within their teams.

Lab Details

  • Six sessions, two and half hours each

  • Available online or in-person 

  • 15 hours total of live interactive sessions

  • Explore how Inner Work Life—the interplay of emotions, perceptions, and motivation—shapes workplace engagement, performance, and well-being. Grounded in Teresa Amabile’s research, this course highlights how daily experiences influence productivity and job satisfaction. Discover the power of Value-Driven Work, ensuring that efforts align with meaningful contributions rather than mere activity. Learn practical strategies to foster a motivated, engaged, and high-performing team by supporting progress, positive emotions, and purpose-driven work.

  • Explore the six leadership styles identified by Daniel Goleman, gain insight into their characteristics, applications, and impact on organizational climate. Effective leadership is not one-size-fits-all—adaptability is key to inspiring and guiding teams toward success. Learn how each style influences workplace culture, employee engagement, and performance, as well as when to apply each approach for maximum impact.

  • Lead with clarity, authenticity, and impact. In Leading with Insight, you’ll deepen your understanding of your leadership identity and discover how self-awareness enhances your effectiveness. Through reflective exercises, practical tools, and evidence-based strategies, you’ll learn to build meaningful relationships, align your actions with your values, and lead with empathy and confidence.

  • Lead with clarity and confidence by understanding the dynamic relationship between leadership and management. In this workshop, you'll assess your strengths in both areas, gain practical strategies to foster trust and collaboration, and develop the skills to build high-performing teams. You'll also learn how to cultivate psychologically safe environments and enhance your external self-awareness by seeking, receiving, and applying feedback to refine your leadership impact.

  • Cultivate self-awareness, resilience, and effective decision-making through mindfulness and emotional intelligence. Learn to counteract stress and autopilot thinking while applying EI principles to strengthen leadership and team dynamics.

  • Strengthen your team's culture by aligning organizational values, leadership goals, and individual team member values. Explore how to use values as a foundation for creating a cohesive, motivated, and resilient team. Participants will reflect on personal and organizational values, set leadership culture goals, and discover practical ways to cultivate a thriving, values-driven team environment.
